The Hotel Bentley was constructed in 1907 by Joseph Bentley, a native of Pennsylvania who became wealthy in the lumber industry in Central Louisiana. During World War II, the United States military trained over half of a million troops in the Alexandria area. On November 15, 1979, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. On August 1, 2012, plans were announced for local developer Michael Jenkins to renovate and reopen Hotel Bentley, with luxury condos, a 96-room hotel, meeting rooms, and a restaurant. The hotel has undergone a multi-million dollar restoration.

We have opened the Call for Presentations for the Fall Mini-Conference scheduled for October 17-20, 2022 at the Randolph Riverfront Center, Hotel Bentley, and Holiday Inn Downtown in Alexandria, Louisiana. Those who wish to provide a presentation(s) for consideration please click the button on the right to complete the online form.
Remember presentations should be devoid of advertisement. We are looking for topics relevant to the water and wastewater industry (new technology, security, utility management, and board training, etc.). The Fall Mini-Conference offers training opportunities for all aspects of the water and wastewater industry, from operation to management to regulation. LRWA offers specialized education and networking opportunities specifically designed for utility managers, town council members, and utility board members.
The deadline to submit a request to present is August 26th. The dates needed for the presentations are October 18, 19 & 20 (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday).
LRWA Fall Mini-Conference is designed to bring together water and wastewater utility systems – large and small, municipal and rural – for sessions in operations, management, boardmanship, and governance.
LRWA has rescheduled the Annual Membership Meeting for October 12th at 1:30pm at the Hotel Bentley. The meeting room will be determined closer to the date. If you wish to attend please go to the LRWA Registration Desk on the 1st floor and we will be happy to direct you to the correct room.
