These training courses are provided for those interested in becoming certified or advancing certification levels in Water (Production, Treatment, and Distribution) or Wastewater (Treatment and Collection). Course hours approved by the Louisiana Department of Health.
You can only take one class as they are held in different classrooms simultaneously (Monday-Thursday from 8:00 am-5:00 pm). A certification class is REQUIRED to take the exam on Friday.
You CANNOT sit in water class for a few hours and then the wastewater class. LRWA no longer allows you to switch classes for credit hours.

The instructor will provide a class manual/handout for review/studying during class. Other study materials/manuals may be brought to class as additional study aids. If you wish to purchase the California Manuals you can purchase them directly through these links.

Students are responsible for their meals.
Seating priority will be given to those taking exams! These classes are NOT designed for those needing credit hours only those needing to take operator exams. Classroom size is limited; please complete the online registration (below tickets) or mail the registration form and payment early to reserve a seat. LRWA CANNOT hold seats without payment. Registration will close when the seating limit has been met.
Don’t forget to make hotel reservations, if needed. You can contact the Holiday Inn Alexandria Downtown at 318-541-8333 for a room rate of $109.00 plus tax. The deadline to make room reservations with the discount rate is April 28, 2024.

Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) states that pre-approval is REQUIRED for ALL certification exams, therefore pre-application must be submitted to their office at least 30 days or more before the exam date. NO walk-ins are allowed. Exam Application can be completed through this link Operator Certification | La Dept. of Health.
UPDATE: Get your exam applications in early (do it now), a limited number of people are allowed in the room to take the exam. Per LDH, seating for the exam will be on a first come first serve basis, depending on when the exam application is received.

The blocks/links below are only to apply to take the exam through LDH you must also register (further down/tickets) with LRWA for class (exam and class are two different things). Just because you register for LRWA class doesn’t automatically enable you to take the exam or applying for an exam doesn’t register you for LRWA class.

PDF registration forms: You can click on the PDF form and complete it on your computer, iPad, Tablet, or phone. We ask that you DO NOT handwrite on the PDF forms because we have trouble reading them. Handwritting could delay your registration to be processed. Please type if you do not use the online ticket form. Please send payment with the form, it will not be processed until payment is received.
Tickets: Complete a ticket below. The ticket method allows you to register for class(es) and pay online with a credit card or indicate that you will mail a check. Once you complete a ticket and submit it, you will receive a copy of the registration by email to the address provided at checkout. If you don’t receive an email check your spam folder. This form can be used as a receipt if paid by credit card or invoice to pay by check. If you noted that you will send a check please do so promptly because we do not process any registrations without payment.
40 Hours: This is not for extra credit hours. It is not for new employees to take the exam. This is for someone required by the LDH certification department to have 40 hours of instruction because of not passing the exam after a few attempts. Contact the LDH Certification Department (225-342-7508) to check if you need 40 hours before registering. LRWA will not reimburse you for 40 hours if you realize you don’t need it.
