Course Description This course provides the necessary training and examination for individuals seeking certification as a Cross-Connection Control Surveyor. The course consists of twenty (24) hours of training and examination. During the training portion of the course, participants can expect to discuss the basics of cross-connection control surveying, as well as safety, cross-connection control, product performance, conducting a survey, and proper terminology. Federal, state, and local regulations and codes related to cross-connection control and backflow prevention will be presented. It is vital that individuals working in the plumbing, water, and cross-connection industry understand the proper selection and installation requirements of backflow prevention assemblies devices, and methods available for use in the systems they encounter every day. Backflow prevention protection is not a one size fits all situation and trained and certified personnel are necessary to ensure the proper protection is specified, installed and inspected to protect the public water system.
Certification Prerequisites: Cross-Connection Control Surveyor must hold a current Tester Certification
